In mid-September I went on a 3-night backpacking trip with David and Matt L. We were hoping to summit a 15,000-ft peak, but it was a long way away through essentially trailless wilderness and in the end Matt and I made it to the base of the peak and ascended to around 13,500 ft. If we had a few more hours we might have made it - maybe next time!
