Pakistan: a different light
Himalaya By Bike (Jun 2005)
Himalaya By Bike
In June 2005 three friends and I took an epic two-week bike trip through Kashmir and Ladakh in the Indian Himalaya. Four days into the trip my primary camera lens broke, leaving me with just a telephoto lens. A number of these pictures, therefore, are courtesy of Gabe McGann (including some that I probably forgot to credit him for). Thanks, Gabe!

Several years before our trip, Kargil was the site of a war between India and Pakistan. The Line of Control runs along the ridgeline overlooking the highway, and during the war the road was regularly shelled. This sign apparently marks the end of the danger zone. Funny enough, we came across this sign first with no prior warning of 'danger' and were quite surprised. On the back side was the sign in the next picture.
