Esfahan's huge Imam Square, popularly known as Naqsh-e-Jahan (Image of the World) Square. Just a couple of months after we were here, we saw internet images of this square filled with hundreds of thousands of protesters during the Iranian election crisis of 2009. On the far side of the square is the Masjed-e-Shah (Royal Mosque).
